The Body-Mind Somatic IFS Approach

Somatic Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a holistic path to healing that bridges the gap between your mind and body. By inviting your body’s wisdom into the therapeutic process, we create a compassionate space where your physical sensations and internal parts can be heard, honored, and integrated.

Somatic Awareness

In our work together, we practice tuning into the quiet language of your body. Somatic awareness is the simple yet profound act of noticing sensations. Noticing heat, tightness, or a gentle softening, without judgment. As your parts feel heard through these physical cues, they begin to feel a deep, grounded sense of safety and recognition.

Conscious Breath

Conscious Breath is a vital bridge between the conscious and unconscious mind. In our work, we use intentional breathing to gently regulate the nervous system, creating a calm physiological foundation. This regulation allows you to remain anchored in Self-energy, providing the spaciousness needed for your parts to feel safe enough to speak and be heard. By noticing the rhythm of your breath, you cultivate a steady presence that supports deep mind-body connection.

Attuned Presence

Radical Resonance is the practice of deep, attuned presence. In our work together, I offer a witnessing space where your internal system is met with genuine curiosity and compassion. This resonance creates a safe somatic container, allowing your parts to feel truly seen and understood, which is the foundational ground for profound mind-body healing.

Externalizing Through Mindful Movement

Gentle, intuitive movement offers a non-verbal language for parts that may not have words. By noticing how a part wants to move, perhaps a subtle shift in the shoulders or a softening of the hands, we allow these internal experiences to be externalized. This practice facilitates the release of stored somatic tension, helping your parts feel seen, expressed, and ultimately more integrated within your system.

Attuned Touch

Attuned touch is a practice of self-connection and internal gentleness. It invites you to offer your own body supportive contact, perhaps a hand gently resting on your heart or stomach, to soothe a part that feels overwhelmed. By listening to your body’s unique cues, you learn how to meet your physical self with compassionate presence. This trauma-informed approach focuses on your comfort and inner safety, empowering you to use soft self-touch as a grounding anchor that honors your autonomy and fosters deep, somatic healing.

Integration into Wholeness

Healing is not about fixing what is broken, but about integrating the many parts of your system into a harmonious whole. Through somatic awareness, breath, resonance, movement, and attuned touch, we cultivate a safe path toward lasting mind-body regulation and Self-connection.
